INTERNATIONAL WOMEN'S DAY Marches
began internationally in 1911, demanding better working conditions for women.
In 1975 the United Nations started honoring March 8 as a day for
Women's Rights and International peace.
In the 1970s, women in the U.S. began reviving these working-women demonstrations. Every year in NYC for many years I marched with friends and family. In 1977 I was lucky to snap this wonderful photo.
